1.Horseback riding & Temazcal combo with lunch and mezcal tour

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 107 reviews · 4 hours 30 minutes (approx.) · from $180Our pick

Ride through agave fields and along the beach, take part in a temazcal ceremony, then sit down to a Mexican lunch and taste six flavored mezcals. Pickup is offered from Mazatlan hotels, apartments, or the cruise port. Confirm the exact activities before booking, since some tour details describe ziplining instead.

“Ziplining was fun, and the meal provided afterward was delicious. There were 10 in our party ages 7-adult, everyone had a great time. A word of warning: they oil the zipline cables occasionally for maintenance, well, I guess they had oiled them recently because little flecks of oil got on our clothes and faces. It did not dampen our enjoyment, but wear older clothes in case you get oil flecks on them.”

Horseback riding and Temazcal combo with lunch and mezcal

4.Horseback riding and Temazcal combo with lunch and mezcal

★★★★★★★★★★4.3 · 15 reviews · 5 hours · from $198

From Mazatlán, you ride through agave plants and jungle to a quiet beach, then eat machaca burritos and handmade tortillas. A mezcal tasting follows, along with a clay bath and temazcal ceremony led by a shaman. Confirm the exact route, since some trip details also mention ziplining.

“Leaving 2 stars because the guides were kind. In the description it is listed that we would see the mezcal factory which we did not see. We were only at a bar for tequila and did not learn any process ahead of time. The drive was also an hour and a half away not 40 minutes. We also did not get to see any of the town which was also advertised. We paid $170 for something that was not worth it. We could have paid the equivalent or less in Canada for better ziplining experiences.”
